Redirect your WebSite with the Press Pixels Source Redirect (Both Released Versions) Plugin now as both these versions have been updated with some new and highly requested features! The two main features in question are Page / Post specific redirects (using custom fields) and also a Bypass Redirect function for predefined redirection.
Page and Post specific redirects are set using custom fields from within your article editor. Simply add the custom field key redirect_this and set a redirect URL value and that specific page or post will 301 header redirect to your new URL! This feature is available in both released versions, however the Pro version has a bonus power feature which allows you to list and administer your pages and posts which you have set custom redirects for from within the plugin administration as shown below.
The second major feature update is ability to bypass redirects setup within Source Redirect. The best way to explain how it works is by giving an example, so lets say you access http://presspixels.com on your mobile and you have setup a redirect to http://presspixels.com/mobile-site. On this page (our mobile site page) there needs to be a link or button that says “View full site” (you would create this button or link yourself), that url would be: http://presspixels.com (naturally) and here is the trick: what you need to do is append: ?redirect_bypass=1 so your full bypass URL should look like this now:
<a href="http://presspixels.com/?redirect_bypass=1"> View Full Site</a>
The plugin code has been further streamlined and cleaned up in addition to adding these new features, you can grab the free version here or for a full comprehensive redirection solution grab the Pro Version here.
Hello! I would very much like to know a simple way to implement the redirect bypass for the free version but I can’t seem to find how to do it. Can you share a tip on that?
That feature was added only into the Pro version – Custom redirects for pages / posts was added into the free version
Hi there I’m interested in buying the pro version of this to enable my mobile site and allow for the full website to be opened from the mobile.
However i have downloaded the free version and it seems to completely mess up the site. As soon as i activate it (before even trying the settings) the webpage brings up a blank page.
Do you know if there are any plugins that it might conflict with, i have social, wordpress seo and a guestbook as well as a few others. can you help with this
Thanks
gavin
That should not be an issue – you might find you have conflicts with your .htaccess file (In your site root) – check if this file is full of rules. Also make sure all the plugin files install and are readable – once installed if you still getting blank pages then you must just check your server logs – as they will point you to the culprit!
WordPress Plugin: Source Redirect Site – Feature Suggestion
Hello! I have now been looking for a plugin that redirects users by directory choice. And I havent found anything, yet. But yours seemed so
– But my only problem is that I want to have the option to redirect not logged in users to another part of the site and the logged in users to not have access to the other part of the site.
My plan for the feature:
Tom tries to enter “example.com”, he gets redirected to “example.com/public” because he is not logged in with any user. Tom wonders why, and he tries to enter “example.com/home” instead, just to try. But, he still gets redirected to “example.com/public”, because thats the only part of the website he can enter. Then he tries “example.com/public/home”, and Tom doesnt get redirected because he is on the right part of the site.
Joey tries to enter “example.com”, he gets through because he is logged in with his user. Joey does also tries “example.com/home” and he gets through, because he is logged in. But when Joey tries “example.com/public” he gets redirected to “example.com” because he is logged in. Joey wonders hwy, and he tries to enter “example.com/public/home”, just to try. But, he still gets redirected to “example.com”.
You see where I want it to, right? If you could add this, I would be greatful. And if you know a plugin that does this, please let me know!
Well, it took ages – but I have managed to build this into the Pro version of Source Redirect
Free version allows for unregistered (base URL) and administrator redirection, Pro has a lot more going on (plus what you asked for above) Enjoy and let me know if you have any hassles, busy uploading now!
I installed the plugin Source Redirect, activated it, set the address to redirect to, saved the settings but it isn’t doing anything. What am I doing wrong? Address with redirect is: http://www.pgwest.ca Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Sorry – looks like there might have been some kind of delayed reaction. It seems to be working now. I will monitor over the next few days and see how it handles.
